Cyber security is one of the most exciting fields out there today, with new information and opportunity on a daily basis.

In a Nutshell

A Driven Cyber Security Student, Systems Administrator, Digital Weekend Warrior, and Family Man

I can’t say that I’m not addicted to my field of study. There’s so much out there to know, and infinitely more unknown. How can I help but dive right in?

But first, I need more coffee.

Mission Statement

To always strive for more, to better myself, to increase my knowledge and abilities for the sake of my family, and improve the quality of the cyber landscape for all future generations.

A few things I do securely

I’m still early in my career, but my focus on security is incontrovertible. Every day I work to build my skills, taking every step strategically to reach my career goal of being a skilled security professional.

Snowden’s OS of choice, Qubes is an incredible open source operating system designed from the ground up with security in mind. Although it takes a learning curve to get used to, I now use it for everything because of it’s incredible functionality.

Two-factor authentication is a wonderful solution to the pervasive problem of password security. I use this to secure as many of my devices as I can.

Approximately 80% of all security incidents begin from weak credentials– always, always, always use a password manager. A good password manager won’t slow you down but it will greatly increase your security.

Absolute control of your personal information is important today. Use a VPN, use private browsing, and use tracker and ad blockers as often as possible. Keep your information away from prying eyes.
